Went to the penis festival in Komaki yesterday. I know. A festival. With a giant penis as its ‘mascot’/ representation of deity. Being carried around as a ‘mikoshi’ (google it) around town. Was extroardinary. 

Everything was perfectly fine until came the time to eat. I was with my good friends who love and enjoy matsuri-street-food style: greasy and just awesomly tasty (fact). However, with us was a girl who doen’t really hang with us usualy, but since most of the friends she had made since our arrival in japan had gone home, well, she started to hang with us. Which is cool, since she’s really funny. 

But. But but but. One thing I didn’t know about her was that she was ‘on a diet’. The kind you keep talking about when others are eating with you. The kind you keep reminding others. And so, since the day before, she’d been talking about it, openly struggling not to eat cake when we went to the café (it’s not like anybody was forcing her), or not to eat anything at the festival BECAUSE SHE WOULD EAT A SALAD WHEN SHE WOULD GET HOME. So yeah, the same disque, all-day-long. 

I know I should never tell others they should not complain about their weight even if I think they are 50 pounds lighter than me… but at some point, isn’t it just plain excruciating to have to ear that all day long?? So I told her “you do realize that when you say “omg, I’m so fat and disgusting”, you make me feel like a whale?” and I know it wasn’t the right way to deal with the problem; I should have said “bitch shut up and enjoy your fucking fried-chicken while watching the huge dick or I’ll slap the fat out of your face”. There. Problem solved. Maybe?

If you click that, there will usually be a choice for Domestic or foreign card. If you have this option, you can take out money. About fifty to seventy percent of them will have it, depending on where you are. I would still bring some backup cash, but you should be able to get money with relative ease. ^^ Where are you going?

Seoul, of course :) but also an historical-ish place… I can’t remember the name, its really hard for me ^^ maybe busan too? I’m travelling with friends and they decided of everything since they are really into it. I leave my fate in their hands (lol, scary).

First homemade popsicles of the year! Banana, water and soy milk in blender and voilà, 3 hours later. However, the large amount of water makes it a bit too hard to eat.

I found out last month that my supermarket sells frozen blueberries. I’m a junkie, I eat a bag every week! And then, like tonight, I have to decline invitations for a movie night at the dorm with my friends BECAUSE: blue teeth. Yup. 

I talked with one of my friends who likes hiking/ outdoorsy stuff and, with another guy, we’d like to try Mount Fuji this summer. For that, the first trial will be to go up Mount Gozaisho first (1200 meters or so) and then maybe a 2000M one later and THEN the ultimate 3000M Mount Fuji during july! Tatataaaa behold world, we’re gonna be pretty high [in the sky]. 

To train by myself I started running hills up around my neighborhood when I go for a run. I used to walk them as soon as I felt tired, but I’m looking for ways to outdo myself so, here is a good one. 

According to my Nike+ app, in 14 days/6 runs, I went from 24 minutes long run/ 2.8km/ 8’56”perKM to 39 minutes long run/ 4.7km/ 7’56”perKM. We-ow.

Went for a run today, but the muscles of my feet were so sore, I could barely run more than 20 minutes. I found an adorable path to the shrine close to my house, where there is a jogging/ walking course. Full of trees and very peaceful. 

Tomorrow is market day; I’ll go there by bike and hope not to die while coming back home, because SLOPES all over the freakin’ place lol. Then lunch at the park with friends and walk in same park (huge ass park :D).

And then, supper with other friends. We are going for the tsukemen shop, where we can eat our fill of greasy soup and delicious noodles. NOMNOMNOM incoming :D

And today was a beautiful day; about 15°c in my city!! Japan is getting warmer everyday! I was talking with my friend how I can’t wait for summer; and she remembered me that we are probably gonna get some 40°c during the whole month of july, and that we are gonna melt. Especially me, she said, with my canadian skin strong like a polar bear against cold but weak as fuck against hot (she’s right (she’s Italian, I think she knows what she’s talking about…)). OH WELL. Gotta live with it! :) 

Went to the Starbucks to study and prepare my dad’s arrival here in 3 weeks. I still need to try that weird Sakura-Latte flavor… soooo pink!! :3

Hike with friends

I went mountain-hiking today in a city close to ours; we got lost, ended up in a place called monkey-park (it looked really lame so we didn’t get in). A bit tired but really happy! Could enjoy the magnificent sun and good temperature. Walking among the rice paddies was magical, even thaught they are completly dry right now. 

We saw a dead cat under a bridge; my friend got a bit too emotional about it, wondering if the poor thing had been lonely in its last hours (wtf) or hungry (probably (but wtf anyway)). 

I talked about the market I went to with a friend during the week-end; I’ve been eating my veggies like a wonder-woman for the last days and I’m proud of it. I also found whole-grain penne pasta, so I’m making those delicious pasta/vegetable salads that I love so much. 

As a way to help me with weight loss, I started using ‘My Fitness Pal’ again, what do you think?

Post-run bath is purple. Deal with it.

My friend and I went on a run; got lost in a sloppy area of the neighborhood. Our hearts were pumping like crazy and the wind was freakin’ cold. When we finaly got back to the dorm (an hour later), our fingers were tomato-red, as well as our ears and cheeks.

(with my face products on the border of the bath - anybody ever used this egg-based oily-soap to wash out black heads out of your face? well, maybe I do something wrong with it, since it doesn’t work, but I keep on trying!) 

And then she said “wanna go to the chinese restaurant??” gosh, the temptation. BUT NO; first a bath with my present novel of choice “The Portrait of Dorian Gray”, then a communal dinner with other friends and then probably watch some new tv show (we finished game of thrones season 2 yesterday!). The lack of activities during spring break in Japan is leading us to a tv-show hole where Netflix is concidered a drug dealer.

What do you think is better between HBO’s Rome or STARZ’s Spartacus?

I started Smoothy(?)ing

The new year and other fests are officially over in Japan; I did the mistake of weighting myself AND finding my medical exam card on the same day a few days ago. I putted on 5 KG (12 pounds) since I arrived here. I knew I had putted on a few pounds since september; but this much? At first I almost cried but then realized it would get me nowhere. So I got my ass in front of my computer and ordered on amazon a blender (because a juicer is fucking expensive!) , nuts and chia seeds.

A few weeks later, I can say I officially started smoothying. Daily. But not for all my meals; c’mon, solid food is delicious. But I have to say, it goes better than expected (I taught it would be unbearable for me to keep on going on vegetable puree for at least half of the day) but its not that bad. I also let myself get a bunch of edamame as soon as I crave food, and found a glass-container on my dorm floor (a few girls have been moving back to their countries recently, creating a mass of ‘garbage’ (i.e. still good stuff) so my water intake has gone up, for the best. 

I also started with the idea of not necessarily losing weight right away, but more to clean myself from the inside in the best possible way: chia seeds, water and coconut milk. TMI ALERT ——-> it works very well. For somebody who suffered constipation for the last few years (I can’t remember a time when I wasn’t constipated), the feeling is awesome. My bloating drasticaly reduced, I go at least 2 times a day to the bathroom to SHIT. And it’s gooood! Also reducing the amount of food I put into my body helps for this, and I noticed that my digestions ability have improved (I leave this to your imagination). 

Of course the cravings have not stopped. I bought a pack of salty rice crackers yesterday and ate them all and liked the salty taste on every one of them. But after the whole package, I also didn’t feel guilt (ok maybe a little)… but I was able to wash it away easily: I know I’m on the right path. Of course it won’t always be easy like it is now, but I believe in myself again, and I am able to say, “heh, its not the end of the world!”. 

With another of my friends who put on a lot of weight since september, we started going running every 2 days or so. She never jogged in her life so its a bit hard for her, but I’ve been pretty inactive in the last few months so I don’t start with a crazy hard-running-level. We are going slowly, avoiding injuries, cheering up eachother and it feels really good. 

The lunch smoothie! Small-brocoli, 1 carrot, 1 cucumber, 2 pieces of garlic, a bit of ginger and chia seeds. My reaction after the first… bite/gulp: OMG THATS A LOT OF GARLIC! So guys, keep it cool on the garlic. 

My blender is a very small one (350 ml) so I need to keep things realistic when choosing my veggies (I get really pumped up and want to put everything in lol). For this one, I steamed the hardest veggies and then blended everything together.

realized my tumblr subscriptions made me feel uneasy about my body. Fitspiration and stuff, even if targeting a healty body, still create stress and failure oriented feelings for me. 

I did some clean up and gosh, does my dash looks good tonight!
